Introducing...The Deep Vibration
I was introduced to The Deep Vibration little more than a week ago and their newly released lp Strange Love has since been in steady rotation (digital rotation that is). The Deep Vibration released their debut ep, entitled Veracruz, in 2008 but Strange Love is the first full-length by the Nashville, TN band. Singer/songwriter Matt Campbell's vocals are at times reminiscent of John Gleason from The Roadside Graves and at other times he sounds like Ryan Adams or even Neil Young. Musically it mixes '70s Neil Young & Crazy Horse-styled country rock with the more indie rock sounding alt. country of the '90s to great effect, even if the piano line on "Annabelle" actually reminds me more of Arcade Fire than anything else.
You can download my favourite track from the album, "Worried Mind", below, and if you've got Spotify you can stream both Strange Love and Veracruz, and I'd highly recommend you to check them out since they're one of the most promising new bands in the roots rock world today.

UPDATE: as c-flower pointed out in a comment to this post you can stream Strange Love in its entirety on The Deep Vibration's bandcamp site. Great news for all our readers without Spotify.
