Video: The Henry Clay People - "Winter Song"

A few weeks ago I posted an mp3 of The Henry Clay People's "California Wildfire", the first track from their upcoming ep, This Is A Desert, which will be released on TBD Records in April. Today they released another song from the album, the slower "Winter Song", with an accompanying video. You can view the video, which is basically just the band fighting backstage, below. Judging by this and "California Wildfire" the ep will be just as good, if not better, than their excellent Somewhere On The Golden Coast lp from last year.

Video: J Mascis - "Not Enough" (official music video)

Stereogum premiered the new video for J Mascis' "Not Enough" from his excellent new solo album Several Shades Of Why. The video was made by fellow SubPop artist Chad VanGaalen and you can watch it right here.

Several Shades Of Why is out now on SubPop and you can still stream the whole album here, and I'd suggest you do so considering it's one of the best records of the year. Also check out three video's from J's performance at Rolling Stone's SXSW showcase here.

Video: The Strokes perform "Taken For A Fool" on Letterman 23/3

The Strokes guested Late Show with David Letterman last night and performed "Taken For A Fool" and you can view the clip below. "Taken For A Fool" is taken from The Strokes' new album Angles and is one of the better tracks on a frustrating, slightly annoying but ultimately enjoyable album. Stream the entire album here.

New Bon Iver album out in June

In an interview with Rolling Stone Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon revealed that the second Bon Iver album will be released in June. Bon Iver's debut record For Emma, Forever Ago was recorded by Vernon by himself and self-released in 2007 at first, but the record was soon the talk of the indie world and Bon Iver signed with Jagjaguwar who re-released it in 2008. For Emma is one of the most impressive and beautiful records of the '00s and it's follow-up has been highly anticipated, but Vernon's kept busy by working with Kanye West, recording and performing in the groups Gayngs and Volcano Choir instead of delivering it.

In the interview with Rolling Stone Vernon talked a bit about the songwriting process; about how he had "forgotten" how to write songs and changed the way he worked. The upcoming ten-track album opens with Perth, which Vernon describes as a "Civil War-sounding heavy metal song" and judging by that and the other descriptions provided in the interview this might not be the follow-up that fans of For Emma's been expecting. Experimental saxophonist Colin Stetson and pedal-steel guitarist Greg Leisz will also appear on the album. We'll know how it all turns out in June, I suppose.

Check out the entire interview here.

Video: The Gaslight Anthem perform "Bring It On" on Jimmy Kimmel 22/3

New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem guested Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and performed two tracks, first "Bring It On" from their newest album American Slang, which was released last year on SideOneDummy Records. The word on the street is that "Bring It On" will be the band's next single. The band also performed "The Backseat" from their 2008 record The '59 Sound, during the ending credits, and we've got videos of both performances for you below thanks to The Audio Perv, but unfortunately the video for "The Backseat" cuts off at 1.15 (when the broadcast ended). We'll update it with a full version if one makes its way online.

Fenech-Soler releases video of "Stop And Stare"

Fenech-Soler announced on the 13th of March that they had to postpone their U.K. and European tour because their singer, Ben Duffy, was diagnosed with early stage cancer. Birds need feet were suppose to go on their gig at Debaser Slussen in Stockholm, but it was unfortunately cancelled because of this. Too bad, but let's hope Ben gets better soon!

So, something we can watch while waiting for the new U.K. tour dates that are released tomorrow; here you have Fenech-Soler's latest video, of the song "Stop And Stare". Great video, beautiful song.

Video: Timber Timbre - "Woman"

We've previously reported that Canadian folk trio Timber Timbre will be releasing their fourth album, Creep On Creepin' On, on April 5 via Arts & Craft. Earlier today PopMatters premiered the video for the first single from the album, "Woman", and you check it out below. To quote PopMatters the video is "something of a 1920s-style, silent movie homage with flickering credits and camera movements and techniques reminiscent of early film". Creep On Creepin' On is definitely a worthy addition to the catalogue of Timber Timbre, and folk fans would do well to check it out upon release.

Listen to another track from the album, the curiously M. Ward-like "Black Water", here.
