We've previously posted Noel Gallagher's "The Death Of You And Me", the first UK single from his upcoming solo debut Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and a few days ago his debut US single "If I Had A Gun..." premiered on KROQ. "If I Had A Gun..." is available to stream below and it's another great example of Noel's classic songwriting and judging by these two tracks Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds certainly has the potential to be the best Oasis-related album since the '90s. Also check out "The Good Rebel", the b-side for "The Death Of You And Me", here.
Portland, Oregon folk rockers Blitzen Trapper are releasing their sixth studio record American Goldwing on September 13 via Sub Pop, and it's been one of my most anticipated new records for awhile now. The album is stronger than last year's Destroyer of the Void and while it may not reach the highs of Furr it is certainly a worthy addition to their catalogue. The album stream premiered on Paste earlier today and you can listen to it in full below. Enjoy, and look for a full review closer to the release date.
Tonight Pulp and The Strokes are headlining the last day of Leeds Festival and last night they did the same thing at Reading Festival, and during Strokes closing set Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker joined the band for a cover of The Cars' classic "Just What I Needed". "Just What I Needed" was originally released on The Cars' self-titled 1978 debut album and The Strokes and Cocker do a really good job with it. Check out the pro-shot video (taken from BBC's live broadcast) below, and if you wanna see the whole gig just go here.
