Listen: Jay Farrar, Will Johnson, Anders Parker and Yim Yames - "Old LA"

This has been in the works for quite some time now and it's finally seeing a release on February 27 via Rounder Records. I'm talking about New Multitudes, a project by Jay Farrar of Son Volt and formerly of Uncle Tupelo, Will Johnson of Centro-matic and South San Gabriel, Anders Parker and Yim Yames, aka Jim James of My Morning Jacket, who's joined together to record a few songs set to previously unused lyrics by folk legend Woody Guthrie - in the same vein that Billy Bragg & Wilco's Mermaid Avenue albums did. Just look at that line-up!

The first tune from the album to be unveiled is the excellent "Old LA", which you can listen to below (via The Line of Best Fit).

Yeah, Chuck was kind enough to link to us! Glad you like us :) Yeah, personally I'd probably take both Yames and Johnson over Farrar but they're all top notch...
