Stockholm gig guide: July 2-July 8
Well last week was a busy one; Kurt Vile, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Thee Oh Sees, Shearwater, Twin Shadow, Faye, Ikons and many more visited Stockholm. Thee Oh Sees in particular turned in one of the finest garage rock sets I've seen, completely blowing away both Kurt Vile and Brian Jonestown Massacre despite both of them being very good. This week is a bit slimmer - check out our tips below.
Tuesday July 3: Perfume Genius at Strand
Perfume Genius released his second LP Put Your Back N 2 It to great reviews all over. On Tuesday he's visiting Strand and there's still tickets left at the affordable cost of 140 kr + service fee.

Thursday July 5: Solen at Kulturhustaket
One of Sweden's finest new indie acts Solen are playing at Kulturhustaket in Stockholm on Thursday together with Topprovdjur. Solen released their new video for "Bär Mig" yesterday and if you want to catch one of the most promising acts right now before they play bigger venues here's your chance. 50 kr entrance fee.

Wednesday July 7: Pearl Jam at Globen
Pearl Jam hardly needs an introduction as they're one of the best and most popular acts to emerge from the grunge scene in the '90s and they're the only act who's remained active and productive ever since. The concert will be their first in Sweden since 2000 and it's sold-out.

[This is definitely not a complete list of gigs in Stockholm during this week, and it's not supposed to be. Just my personal recommendations from those that I know of. See something that should be there but isn't? Something for next week you think I might not know of? Send me an email at birdsneedfeet@gmail.com with "GIG RECOMMENDATION" as the subject (this goes for fans, bands, venues and gig promoters).]
