Listen: Chad Valley - "Fall 4 U" (feat. Glasser)

Chad Valley's Equatorial Ultravox EP was one of last year's highlights that I didn't discover until months after its release and now he's back with his debut LP Young Hunger set for release on October 30 via Cascine. Young Hunger certainly promises to be one of the best full-length debuts of the year and a step up from his (already impressive) earlier output.

The first track to be released from the LP is the affecting "Fall 4 U" which features guest vocals from Glasser and is just as good as you could have hoped it it's '80s style glory. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more info on Young Hunger - I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Listen: Young & Sick - "House Of Spirits"

The Lost Lost Lost blog is some sort of UK blogger all star blog, or something (check out the list of contributors), and they've got a steady stream of great new music from unknown bands. Today they posted a new track from London/LA act Young & Sick titled "House Of Spirits", a piece of understated and fantastic r'n'b and as Lost Lost Lost puts it "the post-Weeknd blog scene would've gone mad for this". And rightly so. Give it a listen below.

Watch: Dylan LeBlanc - "Part One: The End" (official video)

Back in late June we posted the lead single from Dylan Leblanc's new album Cast The Same Old Shadow"Part One: The End", and today the video for the track premiered as well. Watch it below.

Listen: Rowan Martin - "Just A Little Taste" & "Dèjá Vu"

Earlier this summer Emotion released the newest single from BNF-favourites World Tour, "Forever Tonight", and a yesterday Emotion released two new track - both from London soul pop man Rowan Martin. Both "Just A Little Taste" and "Dèjá Vu" are pop gems, and the warm and crisp production matches the songs beautifully.

Full album stream: The Janitors - Head Honcho EP

Stockholm psych act The Janitors will release their new EP Head Honcho next week and now it's available for listening in full. Awhile back we posted Head Honcho centerpiece "A Bow", a howling 12 and a half minute long psych odyssey, and if you gave that a listen you'll know what you're in for. If not, just click play anyway.

Listen: Sandra Kolstad - "The Well (We Will Change It All)"

The Norwegian pop songstress Sandra Kolstad, currently based in Berlin, is set to release her new LP (Nothing Lasts) Forever on September 28 via Trust Me, and a couple of weeks back she unveiled her latest single "The Well (We Will Change It All)". "The Well (We Will Change It All)" sits nicely among the top electronic pop songs of the year, and judging by it (and first single "Right Now") the LP is going to be something special. Give "The Well (We Will Change It All)" a listen below.

Festival guide: Popaganda, Stockholm, August 24-25

As you may or may not have noticed we've been kinda slow on the weekly gig guide for Stockholm for the past few weeks (in fact it's been next to nonexistent) due to, let's say, vacation, festivals and general laziness. So for this week we've got a special one before (hopefully) kicking back into full gear for a fall with an extraordinary amount of great concerts already announced.

The yearly Popaganda festival in Stockholm is taking place this weekend and it's actually the ten-year-anniversary of the festival, and after initial doubts the Popaganda booking crew have actually sorted out a quite impressive line-up, with the Swedish bookings shining the brightest. Below is our top six recommendations for what you shouldn't miss, in alphabetical order (just to confuse things), followed by a bunch of other acts that you'd do very well to check out as well.

MP3: Southern Shores - "New Love"

Toronto's Southern Shores are back with a new EP titled New World due for release on October 2 via Cascine on 12" vinyl and digital download. Ahead of the release they've shared lead single "New Love", a piece of beautiful and summery pop music that makes me wish the summer wasn't just about to end. Give it a listen and/or a download below.

MP3: The Men - "Candy"

Brooklyn punk act The Men released their latest record in early March this year, the excellent Open Your Heart, and I've previously posted both the excellent Buzzcocks-meets-Exploding Hearts title track as well as "Ex-Dreams". Now their label Sacred Bones have uploaded one of my personal favourites from the LP to their Soundcloud page; the Rolling Stones-inspired "Candy", which borrows more than just a little from "Dead Flowers". And it does so brilliantly. Check it out below.

Watch: Halls - "White Chalk" (official video)

London producer Halls released "White Chalk", the excellent first single from his upcoming debut LP Ark, a couple of weeks back and now he's unveiled the somber and somehow both majestic and understated video for the track as well. Ark will be released via No Pain In Pop on October 15.

MP3: Dam Mantle - "Canterbury Pt. 1"

Glasgow producer Dam Mantle, real name Tom Marshallsay, is set to release his debut LP Brothers Fowl on October 8 via Gold Panda's Notown Recordings. Yesterday the first single from the album was released in the form of "Canterbury Pt. 1", and it certainly bodes well for the full-length. Check it out below.

Watch: Dinosaur Jr. - "Watch The Corners" (official video)

Indie rock giants Dinosaur Jr. are set to release their new studio LP I Bet On Sky via Jagjaguwar on September 18 and in late June the first single from the album, "Watch The Corners", was unveiled. Today a video for the track was premiered on Funny Or Die as well; it's something of a teenage coming-of-age story and you can watch it below.

Watch: Marika Hackman - "You Come Down" (official video)

In mid-July we posted London singer-songwriter Marika Hackman's debut 7" "You Come Down" / "Mountain Spines", which is due for release on September 3 via Transgressive imprint paradYse, and today the video for "You Come Down" premiered on Wonderland Magazine. Watch the video below.

Listen: Eddi Front - "Texas"

It's been about a month since Brooklyn songwriter Eddi Front's debut single "Gigantic" was unveiled online and now she's followed it with an equally heart-breaking and affecting second track; "Texas". Again built around a minimal sound mainly composed of Front's vocals and a piano "Texas" is a worthy follow-up to "Gigantic", and she delivers some of the best lines you've heard this year. Give it a listen below.

MP3: Ghetto Cross - "Still"

Ghetto Cross, the side-project of Bradford Cox of Deerhunter/Atlas Sounds and the Black Lips' Cole Alexander, was started in 2008 and released one song that same year, and now they're back again. They've added bassist Asha Lakra and drummer Frankie Boyles to the line-up, are performing their debut live gig tonight in Atlanta and they've released a new track titled "Still".

Listen: Throwing Up - "Snake"

East London power pop/punk act Throwing Up are set to release their debut LP Over You at the end of September and yesterday they released their new single "Snake", taken from that very same album. MP3: ERAAS - "Briar Path"

ERAAS, an electronic music quartet from Brooklyn, are set to release their self-titled debut LP on October 1 in the UK/EU via Brooklyn-based label Felte Records. "Briar Path" is the second single taken from the LP, following "Fang" which was released in early July, and you can listen to its dark electronic sounds below.

MP3: Lord Huron - "Time To Run"

With a Lord of the Rings-sounding name and catchy, intricate folk pop LA act Lord Huron's got seemingly everything in place for the release of their debut LP Lonesome Dreams, which is due on October 9 via IAMSOUND. The lead single from the LP, "Time To Run" has been out for awhile now and if you, like me, have been slow on getting around to it I suggest you change that - it's affecting, catchy and cinematic. Brilliant stuff.

Listen: The Soft Pack - "Tallboy"

In early July we got the first taste from The Soft Pack's upcoming second LP Strapped, due on September 25 in the US and October 1 in the UK via Mexican Summer, in "Saratoga" and late last week a second track titled "Tallboy" was unveiled. "Tallboy" finds the San Diego garage act moving away from the garage, but it remains very good.

Listen: Hooray For Earth - "Never"

Listen: Casablanca - "Yes"

The London indie pop act Casablanca are set to release their debut single "Yes" via Party Politics on September 17, but it's already available for listening. "Yes" is the type of anthemic and catchy indie pop tune that could very well carry the band very far, it's very poppy and has every potential to be a radio hit.

Listen: Syron - "Breaking"

London pop songstress Syron is set to release her new single "Breaking" via Black Butter Records on September 3 and it's an absolute smash hit. Without a doubt one of the best pop singles this year. Give it a listen below.
