Woods will be releasing their new LP Bend Beyond on September 18 via their own Woodsist label and it's a pretty brilliant record, I assure you. They've now unveiled the video for lead track "Cali In A Cup" (which was released back in July). It's a pretty nice video with a distinct summery vibe. Watch it below.
Stockholm punk act Holograms just started their very first North American tour and to celebrate they've unveiled their new, and very bizarre, video for album closer "Fever". Holograms' self-titled debut LP is out now via Captured Tracks, and you can watch the video for "Fever" below.
DIIV played at the Brooklyn Sweden festival here in Stockholm (or well, not "here", I'm actually in the Swedish countryside at the moment, but whatever) last weekend and offered up one of the most exciting gigs I've seen this year. Yesterday they premiered their new video for Oshin standout "Doused" on Rolling Stone and you can watch it below. The video was directed by DIIV leader Zachary Cole Smith and Ian Perlman, and it features Smith being late for a gig after being distracted by toy soldiers.
Boston indie pop outfit ABADABAD will be releasing their debut EP The Wild on September 11 and we've already given posted "All The Bros Say" and "Will She Remember Me", and now the full EP is finally available for streaming. Listen to The Wild below.

Simone Felice released his self-titled solo debut LP earlier this year via Reveal Records/Team Love and now he's set to release a new EP for Simone Felice lead single "New York Times" featuring that track as well as four outtakes from the album sessions. One of these has been made available for listening and downloading; "War Movie", one of the first tracks recorded for what became Simone Felice. It's easily good enough to have been on the album. The New York Times EP will be released digitally on October 22 and on CD during Felice's upcoming UK tour.
We've mentioned the Swedish psychedelic rock act Samling a couple of times here at BNF and now they're back with a new video for "Anna", taken from last year's EP of the same name. The video was shot at Kafé 44 in Stockholm and it's directed by Per Kristiansen and Juggo Wall. Watch it below.
Manchester's PINS are set to release their debut EP LUVU4LYF on October 1 via Bella Union on 10" vinyl, after releasing a few brilliant tracks earlier this year. Today the title track of the EP was finally unveiled and it's a real gem, confirming that great things are set in store for the four-piece. Give it a listen below and pre-order the EP here.
The Malmö-based act YAST have released two of the year's finest singles so far in "Believes" and "Strangelife" and today they released their new video for the harder rocking b-side of "Believes"; "Because Of You". YAST will release another single later on this fall and their debut LP is scheduled for release next year, all according to Ja Ja Ja. Watch the psychedelic video for "Because Of You" below.
One of our very favourite labels here at BNF is turning two years today - the London/New York pop label Cascine. Only this year they've given us brilliant releases from World Tour, Ditt Inre, Erika Spring and Picture with upcoming (great) releases from Southern Shores and Chad Valley scheduled for this fall.
To celebrate their second birthday they're releasing a compilation of tracks from their first two years titled Cascine Standouts: 2010 - 2012, and if you're not familiar with the label yet you really should do yourselves a favour and give it a listen below, or buy it over here. Happy birthday Cascine!
Swedish/Australian sister-duo Saint Lou Lou released their gorgeous debut single "Maybe You" via Kitsuné in late August and today the music video for the track premiered on The Guardian. The duo certainly has a bright future ahead of them and for their first video they worked with fashion director Philippe Tempelman. Watch the result below.
Teen Daze is a productive one isn't he? The Canadian producer released his debut LP All Of Us, Together in May this year but he's already reading the follow-up The Inner Mansions for a November 6 release, again via Lefse. Today "New Life", the first single from his upcoming record, was released and it takes a more laidback and dreamy approach than what you (or at least I) would have expected. It works great. Give it a listen below.
Liverpool psychedelic folk trio Stealing Sheep are releasing their debut LP Into The Diamond Sun this week via Heavenly Recordings and it's one of the finest debut full-lengths of the year. Even better, it's available for streaming right here and right now, and you'd be a fool to not listen.
Glasgow producer Dam Mantle, aka Tom Marshallsay, is set to release his debut LP Brothers Fowl on October 8 via Notown Recordings and we've previously posted the amazing lead track "Canterbury Pt. 1". Now Marshallsay has unveiled a second track in the form of the title track, and if you liked the first one I'll guarantee you'll like this as well. Give it a listen below.
The Black Keys released their latest full-length El Camino late last year and they're still touring behind it, turning in a great show at Way Out West a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday they released new video for their newest single from El Camino, "Little Black Submarines", as well. Watch the video below, directed by famed rock photographer Danny Clinch.
We've previously posted London indie pop outfit Casablanca's debut single "Yes" and its video, and today a remix of the track by ATLAS was premiered over on This Is Fake DIY's Neu. ATLAS' take on the track reinvents it and takes a completely different route than the original. Check it out below.
Swedish pop duo Niki & The Dove are set to release their next single "Somebody" on October 28 and we've previously posted the Clock Opera remix of the track and today Topman Ctrl premiered another one by Miike Snow. Or well, it's not really Miike Snow as it's only Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg (aka the production duo Bloodshy & Avant) from the trio. Listen to their remix below.
London punk act Sauna Youth released their debut LP Dreamlands yesterday via Gringo Records/Faux Discx and it's by far one of the best albums in the genre to be released this year clocking in at only 23 minutes - with the first track taking up ten of those.
Back in July we posted the first track to be made available from the record, "PSI Girls", and now we've got the full album available for you below, thanks to This Is Fake DIY who also have a great track-by-track by the band over here. Recommended reading. Listen to Dreamlands below, and there's handy little button at the bottom of the player where you can pick up the record on vinyl or digital.
Yesterday we posted a track from Donovan Quinn's brand new collaboration EP with Michael James Tapscott but earlier this year Quinn released one of the most underappreciated LPs of the year in Honky Tonk Medusa. A couple of days ago a video for Honky Tonk Medusa track "We Called Her Slow Snow" was released, and you can watch it below - plus download an mp3 of the track by clicking this link.
One of Americas most underrated singer-songwriters Donovan Quinn, formerly of the Skygreen Leopards, have teamed up with Michael James Tapscott, frontman of Jagjaguwar act Odawas, to record a new EP titled Goodbye, Marlene. The EP consists of home recordings and is available for streaming on Quinn's Soundcloud page as well as available at his Bandcamp for "pay what you want", and I'd say it's definitely worth paying for. Listen to EP opener "Marlene Left California" below, and download it for free if you feel like it.
So here we go again, after roughly a month of no proper Stockholm gig guide fall's here and the gig guide is back. Last week, and probably the last week of this summer (although today is looking pretty good) saw more than its fair share of good stuff: gigs by World Tour, Happy Hands Club, The xx and the Brooklyn Sweden festival featuring The Hold Steady, Phosphorescent, DIIV. And there's more to come this week...
The Danish indie act Sleep Party People released its debut LP We Were Drifting On A Sad Song earlier this year via Blood and Biscuits (UK/EU), Brine and Barnacles (US), Speed Of Sound (DK) and a while back they unveiled a new, great, video for "Gazing At The Moon". The Henry Clay People released their excellent new album Twenty-Five For the Rest of Our Lives earlier this summer via TBD Records and on Friday they unveiled the video for one of the strongest tracks on the LP; "The Fakers".
