Listen: Coves - "No Ladder" (TOY remix)


Back in July we posted UK psychedelic act Coves' brilliant "No Ladder" and earlier this week we gave you a full album stream of fellow UK psychsters TOY's debut LP. Now the two have collaborated, or rather TOY have remixed "No Ladder" and the result is pretty excellent. Listen below, as premiered by The Line Of Best Fit.

MP3: The Soft Moon - "Die Life" & "Insides"


The Soft Moon, aka Luis Vasquez, is set to release his second album Zeros, following last year's debut LP. The Soft Moon have now unveiled the two first singles from the record; "Die Life" and "Insides" and you can listen to both below.

Listen: Casablanca - "Natalie"


We've covered London indie pop act Casablanca's debut single "Yes" a couple of times now, and it's due for release on Monday via Party Politics. Yesterday its b-side "Natalie" was made available as well and you can listen to it below, and head over here to pre-order the 7".

MP3: Levek - "Girl In The Fog"


Levek, the Orlando-based group led by David Levesque, is set to release its debut LP Look A Little Closer on September 25 via Lefse Records and we've previously posted the first track from the LP; the amazing soul-folk track "Black Mold Grow". Now Levek's unveiled a third track, the folky "Girl In The Fog", following "French Lessons" and the already mentioned "Black Mold Grow". Listen to and download both "Girl In The Fog" and "French Lessons" below.

Watch: Thousands - "At The Edges" (official video)


Seattle folk act Thousands released their debut LP The Sound Of Everything last year via Bella Union and now they've unveiled a video for "At The Edges", from that same record. The clip was directed by Noel Paul and you can watch it below.

MP3: Pandr Eyez - "Again And Again"


London's Double Denim Records is surely one of the best labels at the moment, and thankfully they seem to be unveiling a new release every few weeks. Now it's time for a double A-side single from UK/US indie pop duo Pandr Eyez with "Physical Education" and "Again And Again", due on November 6. "Again And Again" is available for streaming and download right now and it's very good, something of a mix of classic hip-hop, r'n'b, pop and electro-infused indie pop. Check it out below.

MP3: Simian Ghost - "Wolf Girl" (Slow Magic remix)


Simian Ghost released their excellent Youth in March via Nomethod Records/Heist Or Hit Records and on the UK version of the release a remix of lead album single "Wolf Girl" was added as a bonus track. Simian Ghost have now been kind enough to share the remix, by Slow Magic, on their Soundcloud page as a free download. Check it out.

Watch: YAST - "Believes" (official video)


Malmö-based indie act YAST are responsible for two of this year's best singles in "Believes" and "Strangelife" and now "Believes", which was released back in February, has finally got a video following the one for "Believes" b-side "Because Of You". Watch the new "Believes" video below.

MP3: Halls - "Roses For The Dead"


21-year-old London producer Halls, real name Sam Howard, is set to release his debut LP Ark via No Pain In Pop on October 15 and first single "White Chalk" has been a steady favourite around here since it was released in late July. Now he's unveiled a second track from Ark; "Roses For The Dead", which is just as good. Check it out below and head over here to pre-order Ark.

Listen: Teen Daze - "Union" (feat. Frankie Rose)


Former Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls member Frankie Rose released a pretty excellent solo album titled Interstellar earlier this year and now she's appearing on the new single from Teen Daze's upcoming LP. Teen Daze also release a very good record in May this year, his debut LP All Of Us, Together, but he's already set to release the follow-up The Inner Mansions on November 6 via Lefse Records. "Union" is the second track to be released from the album following the great "New Life", which was released only last week.

Full album stream: Woods - Bend Beyond


Woods are back with their new album Bend Beyond next week via their own Woodsist label, and it's without a doubt one of their best so far. While last year's Sun & Shade was something of a drop in quality (to "regular good" rather than "extraordinary good") Bend Beyond is a fantastic record. Give it a listen yourselves below.

Miami-based producer Between You And Me, aka Jonathan Abramson, will release his new EP Crystal Aquarium on October 22 and the first track from it is available for listening now. Check out "Feast" below.

Watch: Crash & The 'Coots - "Emily (hehe)" (official video)


UK indie pop act Crash & The 'Coots are set to release their debut physical EP; John Coles Park EP, as the first release on the newly started Heart Throb Records. The EP is due on October 15 on limited cassette - only 100 cassettes will be available - and if you pre-order the EP you'll receive it as a digital download instantly.

Earlier today The Line Of Best Fit premiered the video for EP opener "Emily (hehe)" and you can watch it below, or just stream it if you prefer.

Listen: First Aid Kit - "Dancing Barefoot" (iTunes Session version)


Last year First Aid Kit performed Patti Smith's "Dancing Barefoot" as a tribute to Patti Smith at the Polar Music Awards and their version was met with great acclaim. This week the Swedish folk pop duo released their first iTunes Session and one of the track included is just a cover of "Dancing Barefoot", and needless to say it's quite brilliant. Listen below.

MP3: FIDLAR - "Cheap Beer"


LA punks FIDLAR were recently signed to Wichita Recordings in the UK (they're on Mom & Pop in the US) for their upcoming debut LP, due in early 2013, and last week they released their new single "Cheap Beer", which is taken from that very album. It's something of a very simplistic and direct take on garage punk, but it's an incredibly fun one. Give it a listen and a download below.

Listen: Graveyard - "Goliath"


Swedish '70s-style hard rock act Graveyard (one of the few nowadays who can actually pull off this type of music) are set to release their third full-length Lights Out on October 26 in Europe and November 2 in North America via Nuclear Blast. They've now unveiled the first single from the album; "Goliath", which will be released on 7" vinyl and digital download on September 22. Give it a listen and watch the lyric video below.

Listen: Fear Of Men - "Mosaic"


London/Brighton dream pop four-piece Fear Of Men will be releasing their new 7" single "Mosaic" via Too Pure Records on October 15 and you can listen to the brilliant track below. "Mosaic" and the rest of Fear Of Men's 7"s will be collected on a compilation album titled Early Fragments, which is due early next year.

MP3: Playlounge - "Sweet Tooth"


We've covered the excellent London noise pop duo Playlounge a few times here at BNF and now they've signed to Fear & Records for the release of their debut EP Thrash Magic, which is due on October 22. Yesterday the first track from the EP, "Sweet Tooth", premiered on Abeano and it's available for your listening pleasure below.

Listen: Taken By Trees - "Large"


Following lead single "Dreams" Victoria Bergsman, aka Taken By Trees, have now unveiled a second track from her upcoming LP Other Worlds, which is due on October 1 via Secretly Canadian. The track in question is called "Large" and you can stream it below, and to these ears it sounds wonderful.

A month back Ty Segall unveiled "The Hill", the first single from his upcoming LP Twins - his third of the year - which is due in October via Drag City. Last night the video for "The Hill" was unveiled as well and you can watch the weird VHS-styled clip below.

Listen: Icona Pop - "Ready For The Weekend"


Swedish electropop duo Icona Pop have been one of the most exciting groups for the past year and they'll be releasing their new EP The Iconic on October 16. Back in May they offered up the first single from the EP, "I Love It", which has since been "everywhere" - at least here in Sweden. Now they've shared the second single from it; "Ready For The Weekend", which finds the duo in complete dance mode. Or at least on this "club mix" of the track. Give it a listen below, plus check out the dub version of the track as well.

Listen: NZCA/LINES - "Airlock"


Londoner Michael Lovett or NZCA/LINES as he's calling himself released his debut LP NZCA/LINES earlier this year to great acclaim and now he's back with a brilliant new track titled "Airlock". "Airlock" is taken from NZCA/LINES' upcoming second LP which is still untitled and scheduled for a 2013 release, but "Airlock" will see a proper single release far sooner than that. Give it a listen below.

Listen: LCDMF - "I Go Insane"


Finnish sister-duo LCDMF are set to release a new EP titled Mental Health, the first in a planned trilogy, following last year's debut Love & Nature. The first single from Mental Health was unveiled today and it's aptly titled "I Go Insane", give it a listen below.

We've previously covered Will Johnson's "You Will Be Here, Mine", the single from his new solo LP Scorpion which will be released tomorrow via Undertow Music Collective. Now the full album is available for your listening pleasure and it's a highly recommended listen. Johnson is one of the best songwriters of the past 15 years, both as a solo artist and as the leader of Centro-matic and South San Gabriel. Listen to Scorpion below.

This week we're starting a collaboration with the acclaimed British site The 405's gig guide, in which we're in charge of the Stockholm section (check it out over here). This week offers up quite a few good gigs with the rock acts showing their strength for once. There's both brand new and established acts to see, and both free and quite expensive gigs. Tuesday September 11: Jack White + Peggy Sue at Hovet
As always there’s plenty going on in Stockholm this week, and for once it’s actually the biggest show that is looking the most interesting. White Stripes/Raconteurs man Jack White is back in Sweden for his first solo gig, and it’s sure to include White Stripes classics as well as material from his recent solo debut Blunderbuss. Plus Wichita Recordings’ Peggy Sue is opening for him.

Tuesday September 11: Push My Buttons: Yussuf Jerusalem at Vielle Montagne
Stockholm's finest garage rock and garage punk club Push My Buttons offer up the mysterious Frenchman Yussuf Jerusalem for those of you who'd prefer to keep things a bit more low-key than Jack White playing a hockey arena. Fellow French act Le Secte Du Futur is the opening act.

Swedish psychedelic rock act Samling are back in Stockholm for Saturday's Popaganda club night at Strand and by all accounts they're a great live act (I'm yet to see them live myself). MP3: Night Panther - "Two Weeks" (Grizzly Bear cover)


We've previously posted Philadelphia "sex pop" act Night Panther's two released tracks (so far); "Snudge" and "Fever" - and both are wonderful. Last week Yours Truly premiered their cover of Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" and they certainly make it their own - if didn't know it before I wouldn't suspect that it was a Grizzly Bear cover, but it all really makes sense when you listen. The cover features guest vocals from Yohsuke Araki. Check it out below.

Watch: Will Johnson - "You Will Be Here, Mine" (official video)


Centro-matic leader Will Johnson is set to release his new solo album Scorpion, his third full-length, on September 11 via Undertow Music Collective and back in July we posted lead track "You Will Be Here, Mine". Now the video for the track (excellent) track has been unveiled as well, and you can watch it below. It's pretty much Johnson being driven around in what looks like a golf car while singing.

MP3: Cymbals Eat Guitars - "Hawk Highway"



Brooklyn indie rock act Cymbals Eat Guitars released their excellent second LP Lenses Alien last year and now they've unveiled a brand new track titled "Hawk Highway". The track is as good as you'd expect and like Lenses Alien it's produced by John Agnello, but so far there's no word on whether it's a stand-alone track or from a new album, EP or something else.
