MP3: How To Dress Well - "Blue Crystal Fire" (Robbie Basho cover)
How To Dress Well's Total Loss has been something of a surprise favourite for me this year. Prior to the release of the LP last month I hadn't hear anything from HTDW, aka Tom Krell, but it blew me away and has been in constant rotation since. For the bonus LP edition of Total Loss Krell includes a bonus 7" which contains a cover of Robbie Basho's "Blue Crystal Fire", originally released in 1978 on the record Visions Of The Country. It's a beautiful track, but it makes complete sense that it was left off Total Loss as it doesn't fit stylistically. Listen to/download it below.

Listen: Memory Tapes - "Sheila"
My only experience with Memory Tapes, aka Dayve Hawk, prior to hearing his brilliant new single "Sheila" was the great Memory Tapes remix of Air France's "It Feels Good To Be Around You" and I'm certainly even more intrigued now. "Sheila" is taken from Memory Tapes' upcoming LP Grace/Confusion which is due on December 4 via Carpark Records. Give it a listen below, plus grab your very own mp3 of the track.

Chad Valley is set to release his debut full-length Young Hunger via Cascine on October 30 via Cascine and we've previously posted lead single "Fall 4 U", which features Glasser, as well as the brilliant remix of the track by Dan Lissvik. Today Rolling Stone premiered a second track from the album; "Fathering/Mothering", which features Harry's Gym vocalist Anne Lise Frøkedal, or rather it's an alternate version compared to the album version. No worries, it's just as good as "Fall 4 U" (and so is the rest of the album so keep you eyes and ears peeled for more news).

Listen: DIANA - "Born Again"
Toronto-based act DIANA released their excellent track "Born Again" a couple of months back, but I didn't hear it until later on so it never got a post on here. Now I've got an excellent excuse though, as "Born Again" is set to be released as a 12" vinyl single, including a remix of the track, via Gorilla vs. Bear's Forest Family Records. The 12" is "coming soon" but in the meantime you should just listen to track - check it out below.

Thursday October 4: EL-P at Lilla Hotellbaren
Brooklyn rapper EL-P has had a pretty good year so far; he released the excellent Cancer For Cure via Fat Possum in May as well as produced Killer Mike’s acclaimed R.A.P. Music. Great hip-hop acts coming to Stockholm aren’t that common outside of the stadium-sized ones, so this is something quite special. On Thursday EL-P is stopping by Lilla Hotellbaren in Stockholm, and it’s both at a small venue and 100% free. Compulsory attendance for any fan of hip-hop.
