How To Dress Well released what's probably my favourite record of the year, Total Loss, out of the blue (for me that is - everyone else knew it'd be great) in September and one of the tracks released prior to the full-length release was album standout "Cold Nites". Last week we posted Stockholm dream pop act Postiljonen's "We Raise Our Hearts" and yesterday they unveiled their new single "How Will I Know/All That We Had Is Lost". The track is another piece of fantastic dream pop and the band certainly has more than its fair share of potential. Watch the video for "How Will I Know/All That We Had Is Lost" below, directed by Ty Olson, and download it for free using the Soundcloud player.

"Holdin On" and "Sleepless", which features Jezzabell Doran, are both excellent with "Holdin On" starting out like How To Dress Well before going into more conventional r'n'b mode. Stockholm gig guide: November 5-November 11

Thursday November 8: DIIV at Debaser Slussen
DIIV released their debut LP Oshin this summer via Captured Tracks to great acclaim - and rightfully so. It's a brilliant record. In late August they paid their first visit to Stockholm as part of Debaser's Brooklyn Sweden festival and any uncertainty on whether they'd be able to translate the greatness of the recorded material to a live setting was blown away. On Thursday they're back in Stockholm to play Debaser Slussen and attendance is compulsory. Support comes from the recently started New Happy India, formed out of the ashes of now-defunct Exploding Heart. 165 kr entrance fee.

Download + Full album stream: Chromatics - Running From The Sun (Kill For Love outtakes)

Chromatics released one of the very best records of the year back in March; Kill For Love and a few weeks back we saw some new music in the form of an edited version of new track "Looking For Love" - which will appear on the upcoming Italians Do It Better compilation After Dark 2. Late last night, or perhaps early this morning, Chromatics leader Johnny Jewel uploaded a "mixed collage" titled Running From The Sun, consisting of outtakes from the Kill For Love sessions, to his Soundcloud together with the following message:

MP3: Captain Murphy - "Immaculation" (feat. Azizi Gibson & Jeremiah Jae)

The elusive hip-hop act Captain Murphy is set to release its debut mixtape, following a few singles, on November 15 and last night one of the tracks from the mixtape was unveiled. Listen: Colleagues - "Parent's House"

Colleagues is a new electronic pop act from Stockholm and their debut track "Parent's House" is something very special indeed. The band was only formed this summer but they've already opened for Elliphant at Debaser Medis in Stockholm a couple of weeks back and they're showing a lot of promise. "Parent's House" is pretty much everything you'd want from electropop; upbeat and catchy while musically interesting. Listen below, and if you're Stockholm-based it looks like they'll be playing at Marie Laveau on November 16.

Listen: Jessica Pratt - "Night Faces"

If you've been reading BNF for awhile I'm sure you know that we're big fans of Tim Presley, or White Fence as he calls himself. Now Presley have started his very own record label; Birth Records, and the first release from the label is the self-titled debut full-length from Jessica Pratt. A couple of years back all I wanted to listen to was folk, americana and alt. country and while I since expanded my tastes quite a bit there's few things that hit as hard as very good folk.

That's exactly what Jessica Pratt delivers - the kind of understated folk that harkens back to the '60s, but it's so good that it doesn't feel like a throwback at all. Jessica Pratt is available now digitally with a physical release due on November 13 and as a taste from the record you can listen to lead track "Night Faces" as well as "Midnight Wheels" and "Streets Of Mine" below. Folk debut of the year? Probably so.
