Art Is Hard Records is one of the most exciting young labels in the UK having released music from some of our favourite acts of the past year: Playlounge, Gum, Best Friends etc. Art Is Hard Records are running their bi-weekly Pizza Club this year and we've previously posted contributions from former Vivian Girl Ali Koehler and Gum (check out all the contributions so far). This week's offering is a new track from Scottish duo Dolfinz; "Yeah Right". Check it out below.
Following his Crystal Aquarium EP, which was released a couple of weeks back, Miami producer Between You And Me has unveiled a second new EP, albeit a shorter one. The new EP is titled Fall and contains two new tracks; "Fool's Gold" and "Fairies". Listen to both tracks below.

Listen to "Valerie" below.
The Swedish pop artist Noonie Bao released her excellent debut LP I Am Noonie Bao last week here in Sweden via Hybris and we've previously posted the video for her single "Do You Still Care?". Yesterday a second video was unveiled; this one for her latest single "Bodywork Lover". It features Noonie Bao herself dancing around outdoors and you can watch it below.
How To Dress Well released what's probably my favourite record of the year, Total Loss, out of the blue (for me that is - everyone else knew it'd be great) in September and one of the tracks released prior to the full-length release was album standout "Cold Nites". Yesterday UK pop songstress Charli XCX released her latest mixtape Super Ultra and on it she's included her remake of "Cold Nites", and it's a good one. Check it out below and download the full mixtape over here.
As we've previously mentioned The Weeknd is set to release his official debut LP Trilogy, compiling his three mixtapes from last year plus three new tracks, next week via XO/Universal Republic. Yesterday we posted one of the new tracks; "Twenty Eight", and today The Weeknd, or Abel Tesfaye as he's really called, unveiled the video for the Drake-featuring "The Zone". "The Zone" originally appeared on his second mixtape Thursday. Watch the video, directed by Tesfaye himself, below.
Last week we posted Stockholm dream pop act Postiljonen's "We Raise Our Hearts" and yesterday they unveiled their new single "How Will I Know/All That We Had Is Lost". The track is another piece of fantastic dream pop and the band certainly has more than its fair share of potential. Watch the video for "How Will I Know/All That We Had Is Lost" below, directed by Ty Olson, and download it for free using the Soundcloud player.
Brooklyn singer-songwriter Eddi Front released her self-titled debut EP via Best Fit Recordings last week, and you can listen to all four tracks by looking through our Eddi Front archive. Yesterday the video for her debut track "Gigantic" was released. It's a black-and-white clip, featuring Front at a beach, and while it's hardly uplifting it's definitely very affecting. Watch it below.
As we've previously mentioned The Weeknd is set to release his first official album Trilogy, a compilation of last year's three mixtapes plus three new tracks, on November 13 via XO/Universal Republic. One of those three new tracks is titled "Twenty Eight" and premiered last night on BBC Radio 1 and you can listen to a radio rip of it below.

The Dalarna, Sweden-based singer-songwriter Idiot Wind, real name Amanda Bergman, released her self-titled debut EP via her own label Häst in 2010. Now we've finally got some new material in the form of a new 7" single with two new tracks; "Find The Rhythm In The Noise" and "Lost In The Light", to coincide with her opening slot on First Aid Kit's European tour.

The video premiered on Gorilla vs. Bear last night (US time) and the black-and-white clip was directed by the band together with Gavin Williams and Julian Tardo. Watch it below.
Australian producer Flume is set to release his self-titled debut LP Flume via Future Classic in Australia and New Zealand this Friday, with international release dates forthcoming. The Sydney-based producer is only 20 years old but he's already getting a lot of attention and judging by the two singles available so far he deserves it. "Holdin On" and "Sleepless", which features Jezzabell Doran, are both excellent with "Holdin On" starting out like How To Dress Well before going into more conventional r'n'b mode. Listen to both below.
We've previously posted the two singles from El Perro Del Mar's upcoming fifth studio LP Pale Fire; "Walk On By" and "Hold Off The Dawn", and now the full album is finally here. It's been quiet around BNF favourite I'm Kingfisher for awhile now as he's been on something of a hiatus while prepping his next LP, which is due in 2013. But now we've gotten some new material as I'm Kingfisher, or Thomas Jonsson as he's really called, is guesting on a new track from talented Colorado folkie Thomas Hine; "Ploughman", on which he's singing backing vocals. Give it a listen below.
Thursday November 8: DIIV at Debaser Slussen
DIIV released their debut LP Oshin this summer via Captured Tracks to great acclaim - and rightfully so. It's a brilliant record. In late August they paid their first visit to Stockholm as part of Debaser's Brooklyn Sweden festival and any uncertainty on whether they'd be able to translate the greatness of the recorded material to a live setting was blown away. On Thursday they're back in Stockholm to play Debaser Slussen and attendance is compulsory. Support comes from the recently started New Happy India, formed out of the ashes of now-defunct Exploding Heart. 165 kr entrance fee.

Chromatics released one of the very best records of the year back in March; Kill For Love and a few weeks back we saw some new music in the form of an edited version of new track "Looking For Love" - which will appear on the upcoming Italians Do It Better compilation After Dark 2. Late last night, or perhaps early this morning, Chromatics leader Johnny Jewel uploaded a "mixed collage" titled Running From The Sun, consisting of outtakes from the Kill For Love sessions, to his Soundcloud together with the following message:
The elusive hip-hop act Captain Murphy is set to release its debut mixtape, following a few singles, on November 15 and last night one of the tracks from the mixtape was unveiled. Captain Murphy is rumored to be the project of Flying Lotus, Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator but so far there's been no official word on who's behind the moniker. The mixtape will be called Du∆lity and last night "Immaculation" which features Azizi Gibson and Jeremiah Jae was released. Check it out below.
Colleagues is a new electronic pop act from Stockholm and their debut track "Parent's House" is something very special indeed. The band was only formed this summer but they've already opened for Elliphant at Debaser Medis in Stockholm a couple of weeks back and they're showing a lot of promise. "Parent's House" is pretty much everything you'd want from electropop; upbeat and catchy while musically interesting. Listen below, and if you're Stockholm-based it looks like they'll be playing at Marie Laveau on November 16.
If you've been reading BNF for awhile I'm sure you know that we're big fans of Tim Presley, or White Fence as he calls himself. Now Presley have started his very own record label; Birth Records, and the first release from the label is the self-titled debut full-length from Jessica Pratt. A couple of years back all I wanted to listen to was folk, americana and alt. country and while I since expanded my tastes quite a bit there's few things that hit as hard as very good folk.
That's exactly what Jessica Pratt delivers - the kind of understated folk that harkens back to the '60s, but it's so good that it doesn't feel like a throwback at all. Jessica Pratt is available now digitally with a physical release due on November 13 and as a taste from the record you can listen to lead track "Night Faces" as well as "Midnight Wheels" and "Streets Of Mine" below. Folk debut of the year? Probably so.
