London-based indie rock act Loom's debut track "Bleed On Me" premiered on NME earlier this week, and on Monday their debut EP, also titled Bleed On Me, is set to be released on cassette via BNF favourites Heart Throb Records. "Bleed On Me" lies somewhere between catchy '80s punk and Nirvana's noisier moments, and it's very very good. Check it out below and head over here to pre-order your very own limited cassette.

Listen: Psychic Ills - "Might Take A While"

First of all, this is my introduction to New York psychedelic act Psychic Ills, but they've been working together since the beginning of 2003 and last year they released Hazed Dreams on Sacred Bones. On February 19 they'll be releasing their new album One Track Mind, again via Sacred Bones, and they've now unveiled the first single from it; "Might Take A While", which sounds like (to use the words of my friend Colin Joyce over at Beats Per Minute) a mix of Spiritualized and The Velvet Underground. See for yourselves.

Listen: Mike Cooley - "Drinking Coke And Eating Ice"

Mike Cooley's been writing great songs for almost a decade and a half with Drive-By Truckers now, acting as the less productive partner of the over-productive Patterson Hood. Fans have long awaited his debut solo release and on December 11 his debut record The Fool On Every Corner will be released.

My only experience with Los Angeles producer Goldroom prior to hearing this track is his admittedly brilliant remix of Niki & The Dove's "Mother Protect". Today he unveiled a new track titled "Sweetness Alive" which features Swedish/Australian sister duo Saint Lou Lou on vocals, and if you've been reading this blog for the past few months you've hardly been able to miss that we're big fans of them. Listen to "Sweetness Alive" below.

MP3: Shadow Shadow - "Riviera"
Mysterious Stockholm act Shadow Shadow originally released their debut excellent track "Riviera" back in June but now it looks like they've signed to Swedish artist collective and label INGRID (run by Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn And John etc.) or at the very least INGRID's sister-company INGMAR, an "artist services" company which also looks after El Perro Del Mar, I Break Horses and more. To coincide with the signing they've re-released "Riviera" and you can listen to it below, or get your very own mp3 of it by 'liking' Shadow Shadow on Facebook.
